One of Marion's most famous residents was noted author Sherwood Anderson. A contemporary of Faulkner, Hemingway and Steinbeck, Anderson was one of America's noted short story writers. This fall, the town will again honor Anderson with a series of events, including the popular Short Story Contest, tours of his home "Ripshin", guided walking tours of his haunts, special speaker events, and even a themed "Grand Ball"! Make your plans to celebrate the life and times of Sherwood Anderson where he last called home - and chose to be his final resting place - historic Marion, VA!
