Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park

The park is the site of a dozen historic ceremonial mounds, built by ancient Indians, and a modern museum, built in the shape of a mound. Saul's Mound, the second largest mound in the United States, has steps leading to an observation platform on top. The 1,162 acres of field, forest and wildflowers are connected by nearly six miles of trails, most accessible to bikes and wheelchairs.
