The museum features exhibits of the history of St. Louis. Among the most noted exhibits are the 1904 World's Fair, Lewis and Clark Expedition, Seeking St. Louis and the Girl Scouts of America. The Missouri History Museum has been active in the St. Louis community since 1866. Founding members created the organization “for the purpose of saving from oblivion the early history of the city and state.” Today, the Missouri History Museum is located in historic Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World’s Fair.
