The Ocean Beach Oktoberfest is back again this year bringing fun for the whole family to benefit local non-profit organizations. OB Oktoberfest is happening Friday and Saturday. The two days will be packed with live music, food vendors, a beer garden and traditional Oktoberfest contests including bratwurst-eating and stein-holding competitions. There will also be a Miss Oktoberfest contest and the annual Sausage Toss Competition, which has a $10,000 cash reward. Admission to the beer garden is a $3 donation, the outdoor area is free. Don’t miss the Beer Garden Band on Friday night from 6 – 10 pm, a competition to crown the best cover or tribute band at the beach. The Saturday morning festivities kick-off at 9:30 am with the Brat Trot to raise money for local youth sports. All ages are invited to participate, registration costs $30 per person for the 5K and $15 per family for the 2K. There will be a free shuttle on Friday from 4 – 10 pm running between 710 Beach Club (PB) and the festival. Event shuttles will run between 710 Beach Club (PB), The Local (Downtown), True North (North Park) and Oktoberfest all throughout the day Saturday, with the last shuttle leaving OB at 10pm. Free bike parking and valet will be made available on Saturday.
