The Sanford Memorial Day Parade which winds through 6 blocks of Sanford’s historic downtown and ends at Veterans Memorial Park, overlooking the Monroe Harbour Marina on the St. Johns River. The parade has about 70 parade units, over 6,000 parade spectators and takes an hour to travel its course. Following the parade, our guests enjoy a Remembrance Ceremony on Veterans Memorial Park, led by members of S.C.A.V.A.C. and supported by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Sanford’s Police Department and Sanford’s Fire Department. Our Guest Speaker will be Seminole County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma who is a U.S. Marine veteran. Between the honored guests, the helicopter fly-over, the dual 21-gun Salute, active-duty soldiers, retired soldiers and a variety of scouts and R.O.T.C. units, this is a touching and memorable Ceremony to help the Central Florida community pay homage to those who gave all.
