The Center is a 279-acre native plant botanical garden with numerous gardens and natural areas, scenic trails, Children's Little House, visitors' gallery, observation tower, gift store, and cafe. Founded in 1982 by the former First Lady and actress Helen Hayes, the Wildflower Center continues to help beautify America and restore our natural heritage.
