Since 1960, the streets of downtown Ann Arbor will be filled with the sights and sounds of the four art fairs collectively known as the Ann Arbor Art Fairs. This year the 1,100 invited artists will display and sell their work. In addition to extraordinary fine art and craft work, the Art Fairs also include a host of merchant displays, food from local restaurants, art demonstrations, live music, street performances, children's activities and much more.

Since 1979, pilots from around the world compete for the Texas state championships during several races throughout the weekend. All events at the Great Texas Balloon Race are dependent on prevailing weather conditions. The safety of our pilots, volunteers and spectators is our primary concern. Competitive flight for Friday will NOT be seen at the East Texas Regional Airport but will take place over the City of Longview and parts of Gregg County. Each morning the flight launch and targets will be determined based on prevailing winds. Outside of national competition years, the GTBR invites 50 sport and special-shaped hot air balloons. The pilots compete for the Texas State Championship. If you've never seen these colorful, graceful giants in the sky, watch out! The beauty and elegance will have you hooked for life.

Performers demonstrate cultural heritage through colorful, authentic and original reproduction costumes, lively dance and traditional music. During its history, over 200 folk groups from more than 100 countries have shared their heritage and culture at the Folkmoot Festival.

The Days of '47 remembers Utah's early pioneers with 21 separate events beginning in March and culminating with an all-day extravaganza. The events take place all over the region. The youth parade which takes place the last Saturday has over 4,000 children, with floats, costumes, live entertainment, rodeo, clowns and bands. Plus entertaining musical shows and much more. Following the Youth Parade, one of the largest and oldest such parades in the nation participants and spectators will find free activities, games and pioneer- style attractions for hours of family fun. Kids will love the inflatable slides, obstacle courses and bouncers, watch for our craft tables and face painting. Large and small booths sponsored by local organizations will feature games, hands-on learning activities and prizes. Interactive safety areas will teach life-saving information and sporting events will motivate kids to be more active. Diverse music will fill the air, while snacks and frozen treats will be available at minimal prices. The final Monday at 9am features one of the oldest parades in the U.S. the Pioneer Day Parade. Colorful floats, bands, horses, clowns and other entries thrill thousands of spectators each year. Many families camp out on the streets the night before to ensure a great seat to catch it all the following morning. The Parade starts at State Street and South Temple. We encourage you to join us for a wonderful morning of excitement and colorful entries in our much-loved Parade.

North America's Longest, Toughest Non-stop Canoe Race. Starts in Grayling and goes through the night to finish in Oscoda. Ends at Finish Line Park. The AuSable River Canoe Marathon, a.k.a. "The Marathon", is a non- stop canoe race that starts at night with a thrilling LeMans-style running-start to the river in Grayling, MI, and ends 120 miles later near the shores of Lake Huron in Oscoda, MI. Contestants must navigate the narrow, winding upper stretch in total darkness, as well as stump- filled ponds and the blazing July sun in the lower stretch. This race is not a recreational canoe float, but a professional, ultra-competitive race with the very best professional paddlers from around North and Central America. Contestants must be in peak condition in order to complete the race in the allotted time, and to endure the grueling and strenuous physical and mental strains The Marathon demands of the paddlers.
