Description:

Dress in your warmest, wooly hat and mittens and join Anniston Museum of Natural History for a very cool Family Day! Former Alabama Poet of the Year, adult and children’s author Irene Latham and UAB professor, author and researcher Jim McClintock will take families on an amazing adventure to Antarctica through photographs and poetry about the frozen continent. Ms. Latham will share poems from her upcoming children’s book, When the Sun Shines on Antarctica, set to be released spring 2016 while Mr. McClintock takes us on a visual exploration of the frozen land. Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and a journey you won’t soon forget. After the program, Ms. Latham and Mr. McClintock will offer a book signing opportunity. You may bring your books with you for the book signing or you can purchase them on the day of the event. This event is free with paid admission. Must show receipt for entrance. Members are free.
