Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site

The birthplace, church and grave of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. civil rights leader, are parts of this park. The neighborhood also includes the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. The surrounding 68-acre preservation district includes Sweet Auburn, the economic and cultural center of Atlanta's black community during most of the 20th century.
