Since 2002. A popular event that allows visitors to view some great documentary films. The Ozark Foothills FilmFest is an eclectic celebration of the cinema arts that takes place in, of all places, rural America! We should probably point out a couple of things that are NOT true of the Ozark Foothills FilmFest. First, you will not see it here first. With some exceptions, most notably this year the feature length documentaries, most independent films do not enjoy their world premiere screenings here. Secondly, you will not select from a myriad of viewing options at each point in time, as is the case at festivals in larger markets. Some may find this limiting. What does happen here is it introduces audiences to innovative new films and filmmakers not otherwise available in the area. It maintains a focus on films of particular interest to local and rural audiences. It provides opportunities for reflection and discussion about the issues addressed in the films and about the filmmaking process. And it is just great fun. The festival will take place at several venues in Batesville, Arkansas.
