Since 2002, The prestigious Sonoran Arts Festivals is one of the largest open air Fine Art venues in the Southwest featuring more than 100 local and nationally-acclaimed artists. Sponsored each year by the Sonoran Arts League, the Festival is a juried show open to artists from around the Country. With more than 400 members, the Arts League is a vital contributor to the cultural life in the Foothills, and a focal point for artists and art patrons. Carefree is nestled in the cactus studded foothills surrounding the high desert. The outdoor Plaza offers a shopping and dining experience in an environment reminiscent of the Old Southwest. Panoramic views of the pristine mountain vistas, giant boulder formations, and vast stretches of the wide open Sonoran Desert, all part of the magical landscape waiting for you just minutes from downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix. Artist’s works include oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, stone and bronze sculptures, etchings and mixed media. There is a vast array of pottery, photography, hand- crafted jewelry and select fine crafts.
