Colorado Springs Christmas Creche Exhibit and Live Nativity

Since 2009. Turn off the cell phone and take the time to escape from the pressures of the holiday season by bringing your family to attend the Annual Colorado Springs Christmas Crèche Exhibit and Live Nativity Performances presented by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While visiting, you can peacefully peruse the display of more than 850 nativity scenes collected from around the world. The indoor crèche exhibit, now in its 11th consecutive year, can become a tradition for the whole family. Enjoy the expansive display of unique nativity scenes on loan from community members living right in your own neighborhood. Several crèche exhibits come with historic backgrounds and others from travels abroad. A fan favorite includes one that survived the Waldo Canyon fire. Children can enjoy the interactive room where it’s “OK” to touch the displays. Inspiring choirs and guests perform holiday music in the background. This year’s performers include: John Stoffey, piano soloist, USAFA LDS Cadet Choir directed by Vickie Edwards, Pikes Peak Youth Ringers, directed by Jan Weiser, “Come Saturday Morning” – women’s vocal octet singers and Pikes Peak Flute Choir quartet ensemble amongst other musical performances. The live outdoor Nativity Performance is a reenactment of the story of Jesus’ birth portrayed by 25 cast members along with live animals which completes the historic scene. This is the 14th year for the production which is professionally narrated and takes you back to ancient Biblical times. Free hot chocolate is provided and warm dress suggested. The performance lasts approximately 20 minutes. The Live Nativity performance hours are: • Friday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. • Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. *Both events are Free and open to the public.
