Description:

Since 2004, Summer nights in South Florida are something special, especially when they are augmented with taiko drums and a cultural backdrop that can’t be beat. Add a cold drink, a guaranteed sunset and a walking path through a tranquil garden, and you’ve got Sushi and Stroll Summer Walks, one of the most popular annual events at The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. While the museum galleries are closed, folks can dine at the Cornell Café and grab a drink at satellite stations stocked with beer, wine, soda and water. Reservations are not required. Returning this year is the Japanese drumming ensemble that electrified audiences at last year’s Sushi and Stroll series. The group’s powerful performance features taiko drums, used throughout history in religious ceremonies, wartime and celebrations. Enjoy roaring taiko drum performances by Fushu Daiko at 6:30PM, 7:15PM and 8:00PM (additional $2, limited tickets available.)
