Since 1934. Celebrate Lighting the Tallest Living Christmas Tree at 5:30 p.m. at the end of Main Street in Ferndale, California. Since 1934, the huge, radiant Spruce at the end of Main Street is visible for miles, decked with colored lights strung by Ferndale’s volunteer firemen. The whole town, joined by throngs of visitors, turn out for a ceremony that has rekindled the Christmas spirit of the town for decades. If you just want to witness “Lighting the Tallest Living Christmas Tree”, show up any time before 5:30 p.m. for that sight, then hang around for the traditional Portuguese Linguica and Beans Dinner and mingling that follows until 8:00 p.m. If you want to make a day of it, see the schedule below that starts at 9:00 a.m.

well, these towering trees really help make winter festive. When I saw it, I'm happy with the trees. Is it really necessary that we scour the land for the most beautiful and tallest Christmas trees every year.
