Since 1919. The first Candy Dance was organized in 1919 by Genoa, Nevada resident, Lillian Virgin Finnegan to raise money for street lights for the town. Candy was sold during the day and ended with an evening of fine food, music and dance. The tradition continues and now includes a JURIED arts and craft faire, 30 food booths and 4000 pounds of Genoa's famous homemade candy. Saturday evening hosts a wonderful dinner and dance with live music for "Candy Dancin". The Genoa Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire is not to be confused with The Peddlers Faire.
