Come to the Christmas in Hillsboro Historic Homes Tour with the Short Hill Historical Society! Join the non-profit Short Hill Historical Society on December 9, 2017 for a walking tour of five historic homes that will be beautifully decorated for the holidays with fresh greens. Learn about each of the homes from docents who guide you through the homes and share interesting stories, facts, and historical information. Tickets are required to tour the homes. The costs are: • $20 in advance ($25 on the date of the tour) • $18 for seniors and students • $15 for Short Hill Historical Society members Tickets may be purchased online at www.ShortHillHistoricalSociety.org This is a walking tour, so please dress appropriately for the weather and wear soft soled shoes to help protect the floors of the homes. Funds raised help support their efforts to preserve and restore historic landmarks in the Short Hill region; preserve and enhance historical information, facts, and stories about our area; and provide experiences that engage people of all ages in learning about and protecting our history. Initially formed as the Hillsboro Community Association in 1976, it saved the Old Stone School in Hillsboro from being demolished and kepts its doors open for 40 years. to protecting and restoring other historic landmarks in the Short Hill region, and has changed its name to reflect its renewed focus on its original charter. The Short Hill Historical Society has retained one of its signature events, the Christmas in Hillsboro Historic Homes Tour, while hosting events and undertaking new projects.
