Inspired by the circle formation, known as a cypher, used in hip-hop and house to facilitate improvisation, equity, and expression, this JAM will create a space for spontaneity, discovery, and connection. Former Urban Bush Women dancer and LA choreographer Marjani Forté-Saunders invites you to engage your creative mind and play with abandon as you explore contemporary dance forms. All ages and skill levels are welcome; an open mind and rich curiosity are all that are requested.
Sing, dance, play and experience something unexpected! This interactive series invites participants of all skill levels to unleash their inner artist with stepping, dancing, ukulele, drumming, and so much more. JAM Sessions are FREE participatory events centered around movement and music. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
JAM Sessions are a program of the Ford Theatre Foundation with support provided by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles; The James Irvine Foundation; Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation; and Edison International.
