3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF! On Saturday, May 11, become a rocket engineer at Discovery Cube’s annual Rocket Launch! Design, build and launch your own water bottle rocket and participate in our longest “hang time” competition and become the 2019 Grand Rocketeer! Bring an empty 2-liter bottle, your problem solving skills, imagination and transform that bottle into a rocket. Engineers from The Boeing Company will be on campus offering design and engineering tips to all participants. The engineering process can start at home, research rocket design, and understand what wing shapes, a nose, weights, or other items may affect the design of your vehicle. Participants are encouraged to pre-build their 2- liter bottle rocket before launch day, and test it at the event. Rockets can be tested and adjusted on-site and launched repeatedly for the best performance. Water launchers are provided for all participants. Rocket Launch is a free community event. Registration is required. Boeing is a tobacco-free environment. Tobacco use of any kind is prohibited on Boeing property. No pets allowed, service dogs welcomed.
