Since 2004. The Havasu Triathlon is the oldest triathlon in Lake Havasu City and one of the oldest annual triathlons in Arizona, dating back to 1999 when the Pan American Games Triathlon Trials were held here. Before that the Lake Havasu Fire Department produced the race from 1986-1992. The Havasu Triathlon has a great history, with Olympians and Collegiate Champions racing on the course. Today's triathlon stars raced at the USAT Collegiate National Triathlon Championships held in Lake Havasu at the Havasu Triathlon in 2004 and 2005. Since them members of the the 2012 Olympic Team have raced Havasu as well as numerous age group national and world champions. There is no better race to start the season. Warm temperatures and sunny skies are practically guaranteed in Lake Havasu! Spring Break is traditionally held in the middle of March in Lake Havasu. College students, families, boaters and triathletes enjoy March in Havasu for good reason! There is no winter in Lake Havasu City. No way. Expect temperatures in the mid 80s and warm, sunny skies. Perfect triathlon weather, especially when back home it is snowing! The Havasu Triathlon annually welcomes athletes from over 35 states, making it one of the premier early season races in the USA.
