The Craterian Theater at The Collier Center for the Performing Arts is southern Oregon’s state-of-the-art community performing arts center. The facility features excellent acoustics and sightlines, an impressive array of theatrical equipment and is operated by a professional staff. The auditorium is intimate and comfortable and seats just 732 patrons, yet the stage can accommodate large national concert, dance and theatrical tours. The Craterian Theater is a vibrant facility utilized by all parts of the community for performances, rehearsals, classes and workshops, conferences, receptions, parties, seminars, trainings, etc. The Craterian is owned and operated by Craterian Performances Company, a nonprofit community organization. The mission of Craterian Performances is to increase and enhance the Rogue Valley's opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of high quality cultural and entertainment programs, and to increase community pride by operating a state-of-the-art multi-purpose performance facility. The purpose of the Craterian Theater is to function as a forum for community events; a facility for local, regional, and national performing artists; and as a center that both fosters the development of the performing arts and anchors downtown Medford's urban renewal development. In recent years we have expanded into being a producer of local arts programming via our own Teen Musical Theater of Oregon and our Next Stage Repertory Company. We are committed to maximizing access to diverse arts programs for people of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic levels from throughout southern Oregon, and to introducing young people to the performing arts who may have had little exposure in today's high-tech world. Craterian Performances has been presenting world-class arts and entertainment programs since 1997. Our "Arts Partners" are the Rogue Valley Chorale, Rogue Valley Symphony, Rogue Opera and Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon who make the Craterian their Medford performance home. Our year 'round staff is dedicated to operating a state-of-the-art facility professionally and safely for approximately 40,000 attendees annually.
