World Championship Crystal Dig

Since 1987 All amateur quartz crystal diggers are invited to enter! Note: This is an AMATEUR quartz crystal digging competition. Professional and commercial quartz crystal diggers and dealers are not permitted to compete in the World Championship Quartz Crystal Dig. The Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce asks for your understanding and honesty in maintaining this as an amateur event. Any entrant in violation of this rule will be disqualified; their entrance fee forfeited and barred from future events. The entry fee for the World Championship Quartz Crystal Dig is $100. Diggers are encouraged to register early! Digging begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Diggers must check in at the mine, present their mine pass, and sign a liability waiver each day. Diggers may may choose a different mine each day but not switch mines midday. Diggers may not leave the mine and return again later that same day. Once you leave the mine you are done digging for the day! Plan ahead and be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks! Do not leave behind trash at the mines! If you see trash, please pick it up!
