This 18th century house is the last home in the northeast of Thomas Paine, author of Common Sense. It is the headquarters of the Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association and an active historical museum.
Many artifacts of the 18th century through modern times are on display with an emphasis on New Rochelle settlers, the Huguenots & Thomas Paine. Revolving displays of New Rochelle history, past & present are also part of your visit as well as the Sophie Brewster One-room schoolhouse found on the Museum's grounds.
