Since 1935. Pella is beautiful and unique all year long, but at Tulip Time it comes alive with tulips, Dutch attire, parades, food, fun and more. Thousands of residents wear Dutch attire and celebrate our Dutch heritage. Three days each spring, Pella becomes the Netherlands to Pella residents and visitors alike. Each year more than 200,000 tulip bulbs are planted--early, middle, and late varieties, ensuring blooms for many weeks. One of the highlights of our Tulip Time Festival is the parades! We feature two parades on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, an afternoon parade at 2:30 pm and a lighted evening parade at 8:30 pm. The best way to see the parade is from the Grandstand! A Grandstand ticket will not only provide you with a reserved seat for the parade, but a perfect seat for viewing the Grandstand show, which begins 90 minutes prior to parade time. The afternoon Grandstand show features Dutch dancing and singing, Parade of Provinces (Dutch costume style show), cheese market demonstration, presentation of the Queen and her Court, the famous street scrubbing and the presentation of colors.
