The Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a multi-day, multi-city event that travels the country each fall. The event raises money for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. The event will be in Phoenix on Friday, Oct. 28 and will feature a family fun Glow Walk and 5K. The local event is sponsored by Marriott and benefits Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Community members are invited to join the walk by forming a team, joining a team or participating as an individual. There is a $20 registration fee for adults and $5 for children 5 and older, which helps off-set day-of event expenses. Children 5 and under are free. Funds raised beyond the registration fee will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the walk kicks off at 6 p.m. The event features a Fall Festival, which will include a Halloween costume contest with prizes, music provided by a DJ and a dance party. Families can also enjoy a buffet dinner at the JW Marriott Camelback. The buffet is $15 for adults and $12 for kids age 10 and under, with all proceeds from the buffet going directly to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Participants can pay for the buffet the day-of the event or in advance by paying online. Since 2002, The Torch Relay has raised more than $11 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.
