Since 1979. Join us for our Annual Kids Fishing Derby in our beautiful downtown setting. We feel it’s important to teach our younger generations the importance of taking care of our lakes and parks here in Siloam Springs. Each year children experience a relaxing and successful day of catching their first fish in Sager Creek. The event will be held at Sager Creek directly behind the Fire Department located at 100 S. Mt. Olive. The Fishing Derby is has no registration cost and is limited to children ages 3 to 12. Shortly before the event, The Game and Fish Department will stock about 1500-2000 pounds of fish in the creek for all the kiddos to catch. We also net off a certain area of the creek, so the little ones fishing are more likely to catch a fish or two. The Recreation Coordinator with The Parks and Recreation Division will be on hand to answer any questions and provide fishing information. Make plans to get up early that day. The derby is from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and prizes will be awarded in several categories. You need to have your own fishing pole and tackle box; have fun with us at this popular event! This is an angler’s dream- teaching the littles how to fish and enjoy our natural resources. Along Sager Creek directly behind Fire Station II located at 100 South Mt. Olive Street.
