Tour of the Gila

Since 1987. "Welcome to the SRAM Tour of the Gila. Whether you are a returning rider, familiar with the challenges this race offers, or a first timer here, our goal is to make this one of your best cycling experiences of the year. Set against the backdrop of some of the wildest country in America, the SRAM Tour of the Gila has long been known among American riders as one of the highlights of the US racing season. The SRAM Tour of the Gila will once again be a part of USA Cycling's National Racing Calendar. We are pleased to remain a part of this prestigious series. After strong interest shown by many top level professional teams, the Tour of the Gila organizers along with strong support from SRAM, were hoping to become a UCI event This would have allowed many of these pro teams the freedom to bring full squads to the race. This effort proved too difficult to accomplish this year and the race will be run under the same sanctioning as in previous years. It is our hope that while here this year, all riders, their friends, and family, will take the time to stop by and speak to the SRAM support crews to thank them, not only for the critical support they lend to our race, but for their constant and continuing effort to make the Sport better for all of us. If your desire is to measure yourself against the best competition and the most challenging courses, then "Come on Down"! Enjoy small town hospitality and "big time" racing at the same time. Amateur riders in all categories will have a chance to test themselves against the best regional and national level riders. Pro Men and Women will have the chance to put their names next to a list of winners which reads like a "Who's Who" of American and World cycling over the last quarter century.
