On Thursday, May 15, the Skull Valley Historical Society program will feature guest speaker, Dorie Roepke, an Arizona native. Dorie’s topic is “Growing Up in Tombstone”, and she has many stories to tell about her upbringing in the famous southern Arizona town. She will share a perspective about “the town too tough to die” that goes beyond outlaws, gunfights, the Earp brothers, and Boot Hill. Dorie’s accomplishments include scripting and chairing an official 2012 Arizona Centennial stage productions titled Celebrating Arizona Women. She was Director of Volunteer Services at Scottsdale Healthcare for 20 years, hosted a TV show in Minnesota, is a former teacher, and a musician. Join us in the Community Hall at 7:00 PM at 3150 Old Skull Valley Rd., just south of the Skull Valley General Store. Come early (6:30 PM) and enjoy acoustic guitar music by Kelly Graham. Raffle tickets will be sold for a beautiful handcrafted quilt donated by the Material Girls quilt group. Refreshments are offered following the program.
