Description:

Where: Julia Davis Park, 355 Julia Davis Dr. How to Register: Visit www.walkMSidaho.org or call 800-344-4867 (option 2) Cost: Free but fundraising is encouraged! Route: 1 or 3 mile walk (but you don’t have to do the walk to participate) – and it is not a race! Help make strides for a world free of multiple sclerosis! Come together with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers at the National MS Society’s Annual Walk MS. It’s a fun, family friendly event for all levels of activity and ability. First and foremost, this event is our premier fundraising event in Idaho. Last year we had 1,600 participants and raised over $130,000! The event itself is a thank you for our participants and all their fundraising efforts. Registration begins at 8am, then we have a small program at 9:30am, and then the walk begins at 10am. There is a 1-mile and a 3-mile loop along the Greenbelt. MS is an unpredictable often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Typically impacting people at the peak of their careers and life plans, it strikes people between 20-50 years old but more and more children are being diagnosed. Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with 2.1 million worldwide impacted by the disease and 400,000 Americans. Idaho has one of the highest incident rates in the country with approximately 1 in 300 people believed to be living with MS. Be inspired. Get connected. Walk MS!
