Since 1954, Each December, thousands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware River to watch the reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night river crossing. During the event, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and then row across the river in replica Durham boats. Actual crossing begins at about 1 PM). Admission is free!

Buchanan has become known as the "Town that glows with love at Christmas." Celebrating the Town’s history of Buchanan's downtown streets are lined each Christmas Eve with hundreds of luminaries to herald the arrival of Christmas. Dozens of volunteers recreate this spectacular display by lining Main Street with luminaries made from milk jugs collected by area residents and youth. Enjoy this spectacular display as volunteers line the streets at 3PM and light luminaries at 6PM.

Ice Sculptures throughout Town Stores throughout Shipshewana will host ice carvers. Come watch professional ice carvers create unimaginable pieces of art! Pieces for local businesses will be carved on Tuesday, competition carving on Wednesday and a chili cook-off! Something for the entire family to watch. Since 1949. Our Live Nativity Pageant complete with live animals will be portrayed from 7pm to 9pm. The first presentation beginning at 7pm and repeating every 15-20 minutes until the finale at 9pm. Presented in our Beecher Road Parking Lot. Parking available in the West Court Parking Lot.

Since 1959. The two-time Emmy Award-winning L.A. County Holiday Celebration joyously returns to The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to celebrate its 64th anniversary with a free, live, in-person holiday spectacular. The annual event will feature 23 music ensembles, choirs and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of L.A. County. Those who can’t make it to The Music Center on Dec. 24 will be able to watch the event live on PBS SoCal, livestream online at pbssocal.org, or catch a PBS SoCal encore broadcast later in the evening. KCET will also rebroadcast on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. Entrance to the in-person event is free, and seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis. RSVPs are recommended, but do not guarantee seating. The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is located at 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
